A Central Mystery of The Book of Revelation, Explained

And I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was clothed round about with purple and scarlet, and gilt with gold, and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand, full of the abomination and filthiness of her fornication. And on her forehead a name was written: A mystery; Babylon the great, the mother of the fornications, and the abominations of the earth. (Apoc. of St. John 17:3-5)

I am in Brussels, Belgium as part of my sojourn through Western Europe on a mix of business and pilgrimage. I had arranged to meet an educated man, someone who is well-versed in the history of Europe, someone who teaches at a University, outside of the EU Council of Ministers building. I had asked to see the statue above, of a woman riding a beast.

It was gone.

The afternoon wasn't a complete loss. Over lunch this gentleman made it absolutely clear to me that St. John was describing Europe in Chapter 17 of his Apocalypse (see excerpt above). His certainty was absolute.

Europa, a figure of mythology and the figure by which Europe is named, was known to educated people of the ancient world. The story was well known: Europa was kidnapped and seduced by Zeus (in the form of a bull) and they married. Europa is the woman, the continent, and the bull (Zeus) is the pagan god that gives the marriage power and life.

My lunch guest told me that St. John used the imagery of the woman riding the beast because other than saying "Europa" it was the clearest way of saying the continent of "Europe." It would be the equivalent of me writing about Michael Jordan and saying "#23 of the Chicago Bulls" rather than "Michael Jordan." Everyone would know what I meant. And in St. John's time, and for generations after, everyone understood that he meant Europe.

By painting a picture with his words of Europa riding a beast, St. John was telling us that in the last days Europe would form a marriage union with another spiritual power, like she first did with Zeus and then with God. She is a "harlot" because she abandoned God, who gave Her all of Her strength, knowledge and riches, for this new lover, this new spiritual power, this beast. By its description St. John clearly means Satan.

I am still processing the ramifications of this information while reading Chapter 17 multiple times. It makes the whole chapter incredibly clear and being here in Europe, having visited London, Munich, Paris and Brussels, it's like watching Revelation play out in front of my eyes.

The European Union chose to put that statue, of a woman riding a beast, in front of its Council of Ministers building. It's reasoning was the story of Greek mythology that I just explained. But the people in charge are versed in the classics - they know that a woman riding a beast is foretold in Revelations.

And they don't care. They worship a different god now. I wouldn't be surprised if that statue wasn't inside one of the European Union buildings, safe from people like me, or moved into a Freemasonic lodge.

These are the same people that did this:

They want everyone to know about their new marriage.

They want everyone to know about their new master.

Benedict is Going to Die Soon - And That Changes Everything

And now you know what withholdeth, that he may be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity already worketh; only that he who now holdeth, do hold, until he be taken out of the way. (2 Thes 2:6-8)

I believe the institution of the papacy - Peter - is the "he" that St. Paul referred to above.

Jesus Christ appeared to St. Peter after His resurrection, when all of the Apostles were gathered together, and in private asked him: “Simon son of John, lovest thou me more than these?” (St. John 21:15) The "these" that Our Lord was referring to were the other Apostles that had gathered. Christ confirmed that because Peter loved him the most - "more than these" - it was his responsibility, through perpetual successors, to feed His lambs and tend to his sheep. He also told him that he would have the honor - the only Apostle that it was granted to - of dying by Crucifixion, in the same manner as Christ. This was both a sign and a symbol to the universal Church of the authority and power that had been given unto Peter.

What happens when Peter is gone?

Benedict is 92 years old. He is not well. He does not have the right to leave the Vatican to visit friends and family. He is a prisoner within St. Peter. He is the last person to have been blessed with the powers and protections of the papacy. He will die. I suspect it will be soon.

There is an entire den of hyenas waiting to pin multiple scandals on Pope Benedict once he is dead and unable to defend himself. Francis has surrounded himself with amoral greaseballs, and among other things, amoral greaseballs are so easy to predict because they will always choose the path of maximum depravity.

They will seek to pin all of the financial and sexual storms currently battering the Vatican and waiting ashore to make landfall on the deceased Benedict. They will use these scandals of amoral sodomites and apostates to go after the supporters of Tradition in the Church.

Benedict's death is going to be a watershed moment in the history of the world. It will leave a man sitting in Peter's chair who holds none of Peter’s powers, protections or authority from God with no rival claimant. I do not believe the Bishops have the courage to call an "imperfect council" upon Benedict's death and elect a successor. They will continue to pursue their specialty: doing nothing and cowering.

Without a successor to St. Peter alive - with the protection given to the Church by his presence and the graces to the faithful of his prayers - in the world we can expect an outpouring of malice and evil on the world. He who has held evil at bay will have been taken out of the way. What happens next can only be trials and tribulations for humanity, who is the Devil's ancient enemy, living as most of us do without invoking the name of God for protection and guidance.

What difference does it make if a man who does not exercise the active office of the papacy is dead? What visible difference will you and I be able to see?

At first, none. We will visually see no difference. But spiritually we will be able to feel it. In the same way a spiritually attuned person can sense malice and evil in those who serve the Devil we will be able to sense that something has just gone terribly amiss. It will be a similar feeling that millions got when they first saw Francis wearing white in March 2013.

Perhaps that will spur even greater numbers to take up resistance to the non-believers who currently have authority in the Church. I do not doubt the ability of God to turn a huge negative into an overwhelming positive. But what I do know is that nothing will ever be the same.

Something is Brewing in the Vatican

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed: nor hidden, that shall not be known. For whatsoever things you have spoken in darkness, shall be published in the light: and that which you have spoken in the ear in the chambers, shall be preached on the housetops. (St. Luke 12:2-3)

I would like to write something about the extremely odd series of police raids/financial shenanigans/firings/forced dismissals/resignations that have been coming out of the Vatican all Autumn, but I don't know what to make of it.

Zero Hedge refers to it as a "mystery" scandal, and to be honest, this mystery has been developing for months.

All of these individual stories will eventually fit together like a puzzle, but unfortunately, we have not been given the picture as of yet. We don't know what we are dealing with.

If I were to guess, I would say:

Some major criminal financial activities occurred, the perpetrators being people Francis appointed and promoted. Some members of the police were in on it. The criminal financial activities have to do with theft, embezzlement, fraud and sex. Francis is forcing resignations and firing people to demonstrate at a future point of time that he was active in combating activities that couldn't have happened without the people he promoted to the positions that he did. Francis is trying to cover his own liability.

Alternatively: Francis and Co. are desperately trying to insure something big isn't found or investigated further. They saw what the "Vatican Leaks" scandal did to Benedict and they don't want something similar to hurt Francis.

If you have any ideas of your own, especially if you are a Person Who Knows Things, I am all e-mails.

The One Word in the New Testament That You Should Be Thinking About

"And whosoever shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me; it were better for him that a millstone were hanged around his neck, and he were cast into the sea."
(St. Mark 9:41)

"And a mighty angel took up a stone, as it were a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying: With such violence as this shall Babylon, that great city, be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all."
(Revelation 18:21)

All praise be to Jesus Christ, forever and ever amen.

True genesis of this post:

My eyes open this morning. The first thing I think, literally before I am fully awake: the word millstone is used to describe the scandalization of children by Our Lord and also the exact same word is used to describe the method by which "Babylon" is destroyed. That's the only time the word is used in the New Testament because Our Lord wanted to make the connection perfectly clear.

But is it? I had no idea. I wasn't in front of a computer.

Yup. It is:

The Holy Ghost was so emphatic about its importance that it included this saying from Christ in all three synoptic Gospels. These things do not happen by accident. Sacred Scripture was inspired in such a way by God to help His people in millions and millions of different ways. It is clear that God did this on purpose: He wanted to let us know that it was the corruption/scandalization of children that would be the cause of Babylon to be destroyed.

Now the question: What is Babylon?

If you read the subsequent verses it is pretty clear that it means Rome. The millstone touches off an earthquake that results in the destruction of Rome. Was it the paedophilia scandal by mostly homosexual clergy that has disgraced the Church in the eyes of the world and ruined the faith of millions that caused this millstone? If Babylon isn't Rome, is it a the wider culture that corrupts youth, and is this millstone meant for the whole world?

All praise be to Jesus Christ, forever and ever amen.

God Was Screaming For Our Attention In The Run Up to the 100th Anniversary of Fatima 2017, We Ignored Him, Now We Are About to Reap the Whirlwind

An evil and adulterous generation seeketh a sign: and a sign shall not be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. For as Jonas was in the whale's belly three days and three nights: so shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. The men of Ninive shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they did penance at the preaching of Jonas. And behold a greater than Jonas here. The queen of the south shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold a greater than Solomon here. And when an unclean spirit is gone out of a man he walketh through dry places seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith: I will return into my house from whence I came out. And coming he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then he goeth, and taketh with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is made worse than the first. So shall it be also to this wicked generation. (St. Matthew 12:39-45)

Good people have e-mailed me in response to the Akita article saying something like: "Don't we deserve a Warning before the Fire comes?" I agree. We do. A loving God would provide one. And a loving God did.  This is a must-read article to understand why we are on the verge of fire and why God fulfilled his loving responsibility to warn us beforehand.

In order for this post not to become 5000 words I am going to take a shortcut. I am going to state a few things and then provide the links for the support while I move on to the main course. Link 1. Link 2.

God uses the signs of the heavens (the universe) and of the earth (nature) to communicate with us. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
(Psalm 19:1). He has always done so - the Old and New Testament are filled to the brim of such examples. One of the most profound ways He has communicated with us has been by total solar eclipses. God used a total solar eclipse over ancient Nineveh to convince them to listen to the Prophet Jonah and repent. It was not Jonah's preaching that convinced them to repent - it was the total darkness in the middle of the day that did it.

Ancient Nineveh experienced "the sign of Jonah" (the eclipse) twice in recent history - once on August 21, 1914 on the outbreak of the First World War. This was a warning sign to Christendom that it was about to engage in a whole sale slaughter that would lead to the gates of hell (fascism and communism) being unleashed. God, being good, tried warning His people to foresake the war that had been declared but not yet fought. His people did not listen.

The second time Ancient Nineveh experienced "the sign of Jonah" in recent memory was on August 11, 1999.

Days after:

Was God trying to tell us that the beginning of a new Great Persecution was beginning?

The Great American Solar Eclipse

The Great American Solar Eclipse occurred in America - only in America, the world's last superpower and most dominant political, economic and cultural force on the planet - on August 21, 2017 the Feast of Our Lady of Knock. Knock is an incredibly powerful apocalyptic apparition. Tradition in Action has an incredible write up to make the case. The appearance of the empty altar (signalling the Novus Ordo) and St. John (who wrote the Book of Revelation) POINTING TO A BOOK WHILE APPEARING TO SAY SOMETHING is what I will always remember from those articles. Again, Heaven has warned us, often in obvious ways.

The obvious conclusion to draw from the "sign of Jonah" appearing in such a obvious way over the United States was that country was being called by God to repentance in the same way of Ancient Nineveh. The fact that this occurred in the run up to the 100th anniversary of Fatima should not be lost on anyone.

The entire country on August 21, 2017 stopped to ponder this unique phenomenon. It caught everyone's attention - to the religious, it was a sign from God. Because it was.

Do you remember how I just wrote that after the total solar eclipse on August 11, 1999 the site of Ancient Nineveh was hit by a devastating earthquake?

Guess what happened to the United States?

Hurricanes, fires, earthquakes all centered upon America.

But what was going on in the wider world?

On September 19 another earthquake hit Mexico, this time much closer to the Basilica of Our Lady. This occurred on the Feast Day of Our Lady of La Salette, apparitions which subsequently had occurred on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Knock. In fact, St. John,, the Virgin Mary and St. Joseph appeared to warn us about the Novus Ordo and the Apocalypse at the exact same hour Bishops were in France instituting the feast day of Our Lady of La Salette.

On the same day as this September 19 earthquake a Hurricane named...Maria....yes, go look it up....hit GUADELOUPE, Virgin Islands at a place within the islands called St. Croix (Holy Cross). Hurricane Maria then hit St. Lucia and Dominica (Lucia - Fatima, Dominica - St. Dominic who instituted the Rosary) while another hurricane named....JOSEPH....was swirling around the Atlantic.

Hurricane Maria then made the trip to Puerto Rico to hit....San Juan (St. John).

Remember: all of this happened in the 100 days leading up to the 100th anniversary of Fatima.

America has been called to repentance.

Sr. Agnes Sasagawa Sent Out A New Message Telling Us That the Chastisement is Coming Soon

Likewise as it came to pass, in the days of Lot: they did eat and drink, they bought and sold, they planted and built. And in the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. (St. Luke 17:28-30)

Update from Sr. Agnes: "I felt the time is near."

Message received. This is the update. Read it yourself and pray.

So Far Gone, So Much Lost

For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables. But be thou vigilant, labour in all things, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill thy ministry. Be sober. (2 Timothy 4:3-5)

I spend most of my time speaking with other faithful Catholics. I like it this way. While I do not neglect the obligation to reach out to people who are not currently in the Barque of Peter, I find it more fruitful to live and to interact with people who live the faith as I try to.

But every once in a while I take a plunge into the wider secular world and inevitably I despair. Because I spend so much time living among other people of Faith I forget how much the wider world does not even share the basic philosophical framework that we take for granted.

My deletion of this website last month and of my archive of tweets was caused by a few things (problems with Google among them) but I gave in to despair because of a few specific things that I had read.

This article by Rod Dreher was something that I remember troubling me greatly. It describes a woman who home-schooled her children, raised them in the Church, had them grow up with faithful Catholics and they all apostatized. As a Father of a very young child this strikes to the core of my fears. This woman did more than I think I will be able to do. If she failed, will I succeed? The thought of losing my daughter to the world causes my soul much sorrow.

This week a political reporter in Ottawa asked Andrew Scheer, leader of Canada's Conservatives, if being gay was a sin. Scheer, a faithful Catholic, responded that it was his job as a political leader to protect the legal rights of people but otherwise declined to answer directly. It was not enough for the braying mob. This article by a national news-magazine here demonstrates how far gone the political/cultural discourse is. Every media outlet is demanding that Scheer genuflect before the secular gospel and renounce his faith by saying sodomy is not a sin. When these reporters wrote about the question they put sin in "" because they don't believe in the concept.

Canada used to be an incredibly Christian country. Quebec, until 1959, was so Catholic that visitors complained it was like being transported back to pre-revolution France. Ontario was founded by extremely puritanical protestants. And now we have devolved to this.

While faithful Catholics argue over theology the wider world is burning. Believing in the concept of sin is repugnant because that would be mean believing in a God that judges. But God does judge. And the wider world cannot accept that because their works are evil.

The conversion of hearts in a world that is so far gone with so much lost is up to God now. We trust in Him. We place ourselves entirely in His hands to escape this hell world that we have created for ourselves.

The New Akita Message Is Absolutely Terrifying

And the word of the Lord came to Jonas the second time, saying: Arise, and go to Ninive the great city: and preach in it the preaching that I bid thee. And Jonas arose, and went to Ninive, according to the word of the Lord: now Ninive was a great city of three days' journey. And Jonas began to enter into the city one day's journey: and he cried, and said: Yet forty days, and Ninive shall be destroyed. And the men of Ninive believed in God: and they proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth from the greatest to the least. (Jonah 3:1-5)

** PLEASE READ THE UPDATE AT THE END OF THE POST **

The apparition to Sr. Agnes Sasagawa that occurred on October 6 is a nuclear bomb in the life of the Church. Faithful Catholics are not the only ones recognizing it for what it is: Church authorities have already sprung into action and are persecuting Sr. Sasagawa for getting the message out from the seclusion that they have arranged for her.

Let's start from the beginning.

Sr. Sasagawa is not a publicity hound. She does not write letters to the pope. She does not give interviews. After the conclusion of her apparitions and the related investigation (the local Bishop approved them as genuine and Rome declined to render any further approval or judgement) she did what a Religious is supposed to do: pray. She did not bring any attention to herself.

Until Oct 6, 2019.

This is a comprehensive review of the original apparitions. Sr. Sasagawa had a miraculous healing of health ailments, a statue emoted tears/blood and it was filmed on television with no explanation by the person who originally carved it and the local Bishop had no choice but to declare it genuine.

Our Lady of Akita told Sr. Sasagawa to offer sacrifices for the outrages occurring in the world. She told her that the Heavenly Father was upset and that this was the only way to soften His fury. Our Lady told Sr. Sasagawa that unless humanity changes its ways "fire would fall from the sky" and that the result would be so bad that "the living would envy the dead."

Our Lady said that after this chastisement the only "arms available" for the world would be the Rosary and the Sign left by her Son. The lack of mention about the Eucharist is extremely troubling to me.

This mention of a "sign" is echoed in St. Matthew 24:30 where Our Lord tells us that "The sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven." That's the good news. The bad news is this occurs after Jesus tells us to run for the high ground (literally) and not even to turn back if you forgot basic necessities.

The dove-tailing of Matthew 24:30 with Akita is significant. There are also similar mentions of the same in Catholic prophecy by mystics and saints that I am not familiar enough with to write about (yet).

The new message, occurring near the start of the Amazon synod, after 46 years of silence, tells us to "put ashes on" (like the excerpt from Jonah I quoted) and to pray a penitential rosary. Unlike the initial Akita apparitions it does not tell us that by doing so we could stop the coming chastisement.

The people of Nineveh were warned by Jonah the prophet that unless they all repent that the Kingdom would be overthrown in 40 days. The King believed God and ordered the Kingdom to repent and by doing so they all saved themselves.

I do not believe we are going to be destroyed 40 days from Oct 6. But I do believe that 46 years after the miraculous apparitions, clearly of supernatural origin with a definite message, having awakened from its slumber is extraordinarily significant.

I want to note that on Oct 13, 2019, 7 days after the message was received, and on the anniversary of the Miracle of The Sun, Typhoon Hagibis hit Japan.

Events are moving fast now. This year - with the fire at Notre Dame on Holy Week, the open apostasy proclaimed in Rome, the invocation of a dragon spirit in the Holy Place - has been extraordinary.

And we are approaching the 7-year mark of Francis in a few months, the 7 year period of time being one that has eschatological value that I suggest we all keep ourselves attuned to.

Fire falling from the sky where the living would envy the dead. Humanities comeuppance for elevating ourselves to worship in the place that is rightly reserved for God. Did anyone really expect God to stay silent while we killed millions of babies in the womb, with screams that only he could hear? Did you think God would do nothing after Satan recruited a generation of priests to do his evil will while attempting to destroy His Church?

God is doing something. And He's about to do a whole lot more.

“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo. “So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

Our Lady of Akita, pray for us.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us.

Our Lord, have mercy on us.

UPDATE:

40 days from October 6, 2019, when this new message was received by Sr. Sasawaga, is November 15. 40 days is the amount of time the Kingdom of Nineveh was given to repent. Here is the Gospel reading in the Ordinary Form on November 15:

Jesus said to his disciples: “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man; they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage up to the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Similarly, as it was in the days of Lot: they were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building; on the day when Lot left Sodom, fire and brimstone rained from the sky to destroy them all. So it will be on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
On that day, someone who is on the housetop and whose belongings are in the house must not go down to get them, and likewise one in the field must not return to what was left behind. Remember the wife of Lot. Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will save it. I tell you, on that night there will be two people in one bed; one will be taken, the other left. And there will be two women grinding meal together; one will be taken, the other left.”  They said to him in reply, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there also the vultures will gather.”

I am not saying that something massive is happening on November 15. I am saying that I feel extremely uneasy about all of this. "Date setting" future apocalyptic events is dumb. A reader on Twitter named Steven O'Reilly noticed the connection with the November 15 readings and sent it to me and I posted it on here because I found it interesting. It is always a good idea to stay in a state of grace and going to confession. "No one knows the time or date."

Forgive Others With All of Your Heart Or Risk Going To Hell. Jesus Makes It Clear: The Choice is Yours.

Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened to a king, who would take an account of his servants. And when he had begun to take the account, one was brought to him, that owed him ten thousand talents. And as he had not wherewith to pay it, his lord commanded that he should be sold, and his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made. But that servant falling down, besought him, saying: Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. And the lord of that servant being moved with pity, let him go and forgave him the debt. But when that servant was gone out, he found one of his fellow servants that owed him an hundred pence: and laying hold of him, throttled him, saying: Pay what thou owest. And his fellow servant falling down, besought him, saying: Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he paid the debt. Now his fellow servants seeing what was done, were very much grieved, and they came and told their lord all that was done. Then his lord called him; and said to him: Thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all the debt, because thou besoughtest me: Shouldst not thou then have had compassion also on thy fellow servant, even as I had compassion on thee? And his lord being angry, delivered him to the torturers until he paid all the debt. So also shall my heavenly Father do to you, if you forgive not every one his brother from your hearts. (St. Matthew 18:23-35)

You could be on your death bed, having received The Apostolic Pardon, having given your last confession, closing your eyes thinking that you will eventually be in Heaven when Jesus tells you  the awful words to depart from Him because He never knew you.

If you do not forgive others for the wrongs that they have committed against you - really forgiven them - it does not matter if you have received The Last Rites. It does not matter if you spent an entire lifetime performing spiritual and corporal acts of mercy. You are going to hell. How could God forgive your sins if you don't honestly forgive the people who sinned against you?

It is worth noting in the above parable that ten thousand talents is an amount so vast that it is essentially unpayable. Our Lord used "ten thousand talents" to communicate an amount that no man could ever re-pay. The King in this parable is God - we owe him ten thousand talents an amount that we could never, ever repay no matter how many good works we perform in our lives.

We do not owe him merely because he gave us our lives and this world with everything in it. We owe him because He is so infinitely good that our most minor of transgressions is so repulsive to the sheer goodness of God.

As the parable says the servant (us) asks him for mercy which He gives because He is Good and Merciful. In order to honour the mercy we have been shown we are obligated to show that mercy to others throughout our life. The concept is so important that it is prominent in the Lord's Prayer: forgive us our sins as we forgive those who trespass against us.

But when we go through our life refusing to forgive others - truly forgive them - we behave exactly like the servant does in this parable: he refuses to give his debtor any more time to make amends and beats and hurts him. And like the servant in this parable when the King finds out about our actions we are going delivered to suffer eternal torture.

Jesus told us this, clearly. Do not let the sacraments provide you false comfort. If you go through life with all of the proper theological opinions, with miles of spiritual and corporal acts of mercy to your name, yet you have a "hate" list a mile long of people that offended you that you still nurse you are in danger of hell for eternity.

A Beautiful Fulfilled Prophecy That You Might Have Missed on All Saints' Day

After this I saw a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and tribes, and peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne, and in sight of the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands: And they cried with a loud voice, saying: Salvation to our God, who sitteth upon the throne, and to the Lamb. (Apoc. 7:9-12)

The excerpt from Sacred Scripture, above, comes from the Epistle on All Saints' Day. I was pondering the readings during Mass, on Friday night, and I was struck by this paragraph.

Modern scholarship, and I say that with contempt, tries to dismiss and downplay the Book of Revelation by saying that it was already all fulfilled in the first century or shortly thereafter. In the above selection the Holy Spirit is telling us that members of all nations and tribes and peoples - from the Arctic to the Amazon, from Norway to South Africa, from the Ural Mountains to Australia - will have been baptized, received into the Church and died in a state of grace. That, of course, could not have been possible in the first two centuries of the Church. In essence modern scholarship is trying to make a liar of the Holy Ghost. Quelle surprise.

But the Holy Ghost has been proven to be correct, hasn't it? Before the discovery of these new continents, while the Christian faith was still localized in a few countries in the Middle East and Southern Europe, Scripture proclaimed boldly: a great multitude of all nations, and tribes, and peoples, and tongues will stand before the throne, justified by baptism and faith.

And that prophecy came true. The chutzpah of this small tribe of believers, poor, hunted, killed, proclaiming that every nation in the entire world will have baptized believers is amazing. But chutzpah when backed up by the Holy Ghost is not chutzpah at all - it's just reality on the horizon.
