The SSPX vs. Church Militant: What to make of this?

I would like to weigh in on the SSPX/Church Militant controversy that began last week with the publication of (some known, others unknown) documents by Church Militant. They concern mostly historical sexual abuse allegations against priests of the Society of Saint Pius X, the poor/possibly criminal manner in which they were handled and the future ramifications of this story for the Society, Church Militant and the Church in general.

My biases: I mostly attend a diocesan Latin Mass on Sunday's at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Schomberg, Ontario. You know the kind: the Novus Ordo finishes, they shuffle out, we shuffle in, hold confessions and Mass, and leave again. I occasionally (maybe every other month or so) attended the SSPX Chapel in Etobicoke, Ontario for my Sunday obligation. There are no FSSP Chapels in the Greater Toronto Region. I happily discovered the Toronto Oratory a few weeks before the pandemic began and I started attending daily Mass at Holy Family Parish and Sunday obligation St. Vincent de Paul. I love what I have seen from the Oratory and I will probably make it my main Chapel once (God willing) things return to normal. I only attend a Novus Ordo Church on Thursdays, irregularly, because they hold all-day Eucharistic Adoration. I was married at a diocesan Latin Mass ceremony, at St. Lawrence the Martyr, and had my daughter baptized at the same Church.

My impressions of the SSPX are mostly positive. The laity who attend the services are incredibly devout. Real love and care is taken to make sure that every service is pleasing to God. The priests are conscientious at Mass, they take time to compose excellent sermons, they offer a wide-range of services to mark all of the important feasts and they hold extra-curricular events to build a sense of community and to teach the Faith.

Now for the negatives. The priests and some of the laity are intensely devoted to the Society (as opposed to the broader Church) in a way that I find a little off-putting. Other Latin Mass offerings are treated with intense suspicion and mild disapproval. The priests attitude towards the laity with respect to their opinions, sadly, is too often "pay, pray and obey." There can be a gruffness and a lack of cheer that I think should be rectified if the Society is to grow.

Overall, I would recommend attending an SSPX Chapel for services if your personal circumstances compel you in that direction. Just remember it is a society of priests and not laity, and that maintaining a little personal independence is probably in your best interest.

As for Church Militant...I dislike tabloid-style, gotcha journalism. I made it through half a Vortex video before I had to shut it off. Before this controversy I viewed Michael Voris, Executive Producer of CM, with some amusement: ex-homosexual, kind of a weird guy, loud mouth, ambitious. But the modernist Bishops really hated the work that he had been doing so I basically held him in positive regard. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, etc.

It is not a surprise to me, whatsoever, that very opinionated and loud laity like Michael Voris and Patrick Coffin do not like the Society. Loud, opinionated laity is the exact opposite of what the SSPX likes. I have seen Society priests literally cringe when a lay person starts ranting about various things within the Church. They really, really think that laity should be prayerful and offer sacrifices to change the Church rather than be loud on social media. The last time I checked Society priests were telling laity to delete their social media accounts entirely. It is not difficult to see why this would mesh with the world-view of people like Voris and Coffin. I am highly confident that, even before all of this, if Voris had gone to a Society Church he would have been told to shut down CM and live a life of prayer and fasting in reparation for the degenerate lifestyle had lived in the past. Voris wants to be treated with respect as a player in the Church. It's completely understandable why the two dislike each other.

When Church Militant broke the allegations against the Society I was highly, highly skeptical. The mutual antipathy of Voris and the Society, for the reasons I suspect above, made me question Church Militant's motives. I reflexively defended the Society on Social Media. I still believe that the allegations made by CM are presented in the worst possible light without fair presentation of: a.) the mitigation efforts made by the Society b.) the context c.) the psychological problems of some of the accusers.

But there is more than a kernel of truth to the allegations. Many of them were mishandled, badly. I can see a kind of institutional arrogance within the Society that viewed these allegations as to what it would mean for the Society as opposed to what they would mean to the wider community. The Society, while it was created for priests, gets its spirit from devout laity who are mostly wonderful people and I hope that criminal charges get pressed when deserving and that after reform the Society perseveres and grows. It is badly needed, the priests and laity love God, and I sincerely believe they attempt to do the right thing.

I sympathize with the Society in the difficulty in responding to some of these allegations. To be frank, some of the accusers seem deeply troubled with personality characteristics that lend to falsifying allegations. This applies to some of the younger accusers in St. Mary's, KS who grew up in a very conservative town but whose personalities are inherently that of the outcast. These people hated the environment of the town that they were raised in and would lie to damage the priests. I have come across people like this all of my life. They were the goths in high school, the outcasts, the hysterics, the ultra-liberals. Several of the accusers strike me as having these personality types.

But the behavior of several priests suggests sociopathy. The Society needs reform, and better screening of the psychological state of their priests and lay workers. Church Militant will forever be a tabloid; it is inherent in their DNA. We should all be aware of that when assessing their news reports.

I fully expect Criminal Charges, and frankly, I welcome them. In all organizations it is important to clean the rot on a regular basis. I love the Society, I hope it grows, but it is apparent that housecleaning is in order.

The Vatican II Church is Falling, and they don't even know it yet

How is the faithful city, that was full of judgment, become a harlot? justice dwelt in it, but now murderers. Thy silver is turned into dross: thy wine is mingled with water. Thy princes are faithless, companions of thieves: they all love bribes, they run after rewards.

- Is. 1-21-23

Let it be shown at my judgement that I tried to give Francis the benefit of the doubt. I tried to read his words charitably, to not assign ill-motives to his words. Time however has proven me wrong, and many of you correct instead.

News hits us, and we forget about what we read. We are not good at remembering. We get numb to it all because it is hard to maintain a sufficient level of outrage over time. The bad guys count on this. It makes their lives easier. Most of us are so busy (or distracted) that we do not fit all of the puzzle pieces together and we certainly do not spend time thinking about the big picture that the puzzle shows.

Let's take a look.

The planet cannot take revenge, because the planet doesn't have a soul. It is not conscious. It is not self-aware. It is a created object with abilities to heal and sustain itself, like most created objects but it does not have the ability to "take revenge" because it is not created in the image and likeness of God.

Gaia worshipers believe that the planet is sentient. Gaia worshipers believe that the planet has an independent will. Gaia worshipers believe that the planet can take revenge. Catholics do not. If humanity suffers environmental trauma, the consequences of harming the home that the Lord gave us, it will be because the Lord either wills or permits it. It will not be because the planet independently decides to take "revenge."

Even if the planet could take revenge, which it cannot, so what? And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell. Our fear, our Holy fear, should be directed at God (please note that in this passage Our Lord specifically says that we *should* fear God) because our status with Him determines our destiny for eternity.

Why would Francis have his priorities so badly mangled? Does he truly fear God?

The truly awful thing about this story is that a neighbor heard a church organ and decided to call the police. Imagine being so consumed with hatred of God that you decide to take it upon yourself to call the police on a Church service and stop the worship of God.

The police came, behaved like baboons, and shut down the service. They must have gotten a thrill that they were more powerful than God, because they were able to shut down a service devoted to Him. While the worship of God by a small congregation was deemed too dangerous to proceed, French women were still allowed to murder their unborn children or buy alcohol and drugs from local dispensaries.

Diabolical evil.

This is the mindset that you need to be a modernist Bishop. How do you justify services that are irreverent, sacrilegious communions, heretical theology and prayers with religions that "worship devils?"

You can only justify those things if you either believe that a.) Catholicism is nonsense b.) God does not really punish anyone for sin c.) hell doesn't exist.

All pain and suffering is a punishment for sin. This is Catholicism 101. God, in his goodness, uses pain and suffering to call us back to Him. This is also Catholicism 101. The Bishop believes that since Jesus died for us God does not have these thoughts. Jesus told us otherwise: “I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching ... that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice sexual immorality. Therefore repent. If not, I will come to you soon and war against them with the sword of my mouth.”

There is also the entire book of Revelation that goes into long detail the fallen state of the world near the end of time and the punishments for sin, sent by God, to a fallen world.

The irony here is tremendous. Bishop Batzing is the new head of the German Bishops' Conference and he recently gave an interview asking for legalized sodomy, married priests and ordained women. He literally listed the sins quoted in the excerpt of Sacred Scripture that I posted above that so angered Jesus.

Bishop Batzing is falling, and he doesn't even know it yet.

Here is the kicker. If you believe that the Church has been infiltrated, that men from within are working for its destruction, this is strong grist for your belief. For a Bishop to be covertly working towards the end of fewer people attending Mass is evil. Completely, irredeemably, evil. Mass is where the Mystical Body of Christ receives its daily bread, and you would only not want that to happen if your desire was to starve and eventually kill that Body.

Can you imagine the dozens of decisions this person makes, every day, that impact the faith of the people in his care? Would you trust this person to make any decisions whatsoever?

I do not wish to depress you, but these headlines have all occurred in the last 10 days.

The puzzle, when put together, is clear: the Bishops, including Francis, have fallen. They don't really believe all of that stuff. Some of them are actively working against the Church.

Does this sound like a clandestine war to you? Maybe it is. Maybe the complete shut down of the Novus Ordo around the world, and the exposure of these Bishops that has subsequently occurred, is for our spiritual good. It has demonstrated that most of them, including Francis, view the Church as non-essential. I think this represents a demarcation line with God. God does indeed punish, and cleanse, and redeem. I have a feeling that process is well underway. These apostates believe that all is well; they can't see that the flood is coming.

Here are all the things that have happened in the past seven months with Apocalyptic significance, including the new Akita apparitions

He that hurteth, let him hurt still: and he that is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is just, let him be justified still: and he that is holy, let him be sanctified still. Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to render to every man according to his works. I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. Blessed are they that wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb: that they may have a right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city. Without are dogs, and sorcerers, and unchaste, and murderers, and servers of idols, and every one that loveth and maketh a lie.
- Revelation of St. John, 22:11-15

I am going to highlight some things that are happening and that have happened recently. I don't know if the Second Coming of Christ is imminent, as in within a decade or so, or whether or not we are being warned to amend our ways before a major chastisement from God arrives. I don't know. I want to be clear about that.

I know that God will, and has, given us every opportunity to amend our ways before we suffer collective chastisement or catastrophe. I know that God is just and loving in equal measure.

I also know that we are in unique times in human history. This society that we have created is *not* normal. It is *not* garden variety unjust like many other human societies in history. It is uniquely evil and uniquely depraved.

Consider:

- When in history have humans killed 56 million children in the womb, every year, in barbaric ways?

- When in history have humans bred innocent babies to give them to sodomite couples who paid for that child?

- When in history was marriage profaned in this manner?

- When in history was the vast majority of the Church laity receiving communion sacrilegiously?

- When in history did thousands of priests under the influence of Satan molest tens of thousands of children?

- When in history did Bishops cover up such a monstrous crime?

- When in history were so many priests and Bishops in the highest ranks of the Church gay?

- When in history was the image of the Church so disgraced and in such disrepute that people widely call it an organization of pedophiles?

- When in history did the pope and bishops prostrate themselves to an image of a South American goddess in the holiest site of Catholicism?

- When in history did the laity abandon the Church en masse as they have in the past 60 years?

- When in history did the Mystical Body of Christ fall into such religious indifferentism?

- And finally, when in history have so many souls, over 6.5 billion souls, been in this much danger of hell?

If you missed the lesson of Jesus overturning the money changers table in the Temple, you aren't going to understand this post. If you don't think divine chastisement exists, you aren't going to understand. If you believe that God is indifferent to our behavior and that history will go on forever, you will be utterly lost.

Here is what has happened in the last seven months. These are all events with real, prophetic significance:

Pope hosts tree-planting ritual where the pope and bishops bow to topless pregnant pagan goddess statue

Pagan cry of ‘Mother Earth’ enters St. Peter’s Basilica, Steps away from the bones of St. Peter, for Amazon Synod’s opening Mass

Christ drops from the Cross of a notorious heretic archbishop

Billioniare benefactors fund research aimed at a vaccination that has data embedded underneath human skin

I am probably missing so very much. But you get the idea. If this were a financial chart, the direction would be clear. And in the direction here is that we are living in abnormal times.

Holy Saturday

AN ACT OF CONTRITION
Forgive me my sins, O Lord, forgive me my sins;
the sins of my youth, the sins of my age, the sins of my soul,
the sins of my body; my idle sins, my serious voluntary sins;
the sins I know, the sins I do not know; the sins I have concealed
for so long, and which are now hidden from my memory.
I am truly sorry for every sin, mortal and venial,
for all the sins of my childhood up to the present hour.
I know my sins have wounded Thy Tender Heart,
O My Savior, let me be freed from the bonds of evil through
the most bitter Passion of My Redeemer. Amen.
O My Jesus, forget and forgive what I have been. Amen.
