How do Catholics Respond to a Pandemic?

"As to other sad and distressing events, such as illness, bodily injuries, the death of nearest relatives, pestilence, wars, fires, or such like misfortunes, which are painful to nature and shunned by the men of the world, we are fully able by divine grace not only to accept them, but also to embrace them, as just punishments to the wicked and opportunities of virtue to the good."

- Fr. Lorenzo Scupoli, 16th century Catholic Priest

Our opportunities of virtue during this time of pandemic is praying for the dead and doing penance for the souls who have entered purgatory. We can also do the same, with added prayers, for an end to this plague.
